Apologies for Last Sunday |
|
|
Our sincere apologies to those who received
tickets or had trouble finding parking last Sunday.
We were unaware of the bike races taking place. Stan
Henning kindly contacted the city, which apologized
and agreed to keep us updated on any such future
events.

and an hour or two to lend your voice to the

Mysterious Coffee Makers
|
|
|

Did you bring a coffee maker to
church? In the last few months, several coffee
makers have appeared upstairs in the staff office
area. We have confirmed that they do not belong
to either of the AA groups, and are now wondering if
parishioners may have brought them in for past
meetings. If you believe you are the owner of one of
these appliances
(both are white, Black & Decker models), please
contact Kristin Matuszak at
togracechurch@gmail.com.
If we do not hear from anyone we are going to store
them.

Shelter Meal
|
|
|
You
should have seen the whirlwind of children who set
up the guild hall with fruit and snacks and prepared
the tables for dinner. Thanks to their energy and
that of some wonderful food- preparers, servers and
cleaners, the April 7 meal was delicious and greatly
appreciated by the shelter guests. Come and
volunteer in May and be part of
"sharing-of-the-bread" Call Watts 244 9424 or

Update on
Stan Richardson
Rev. Carol
Smith passes on the following
update on Stan Richardson . . .
-
Stan Richardson will be at Attic
Angel for about 1 month
receiving treatment in
preparation for
his hip surgery. He and Zoe
appreciate your prayers and
concern, but are not ready for
visitors at this time.
Stan also thanks everyone for
their cards, which can be sent
to the Richardson's home
address. -
Due to the number of phone
calls and visitors Zoe has been
receiving, we felt it was best
to communicate to the entire
parish Stan's condition
and Zoe's wishes at this time.

UTO
Ingathering: Sunday May 11
The
United Thank Offering is a
long-standing tradition of he
Episcopal church. The UTO is a way
to give a tangible thanks to God. We
start with daily prayers of thanks
and then drop coins in ourblue
boxes. Twice a year the blue boxes
are collected or changed to checks
and brought to church for an
"Ingathering". Every penny collected
in the blue boxes is given out in
grants around the world. Last year
St. James Church, West Bend,
received a grant of $8,245 for
kitchen renovations and
installations to improve their
monthly outreach program of feeding
the hungry. I invite you to join
this rewarding tradition.
Blue boxes are available at the back
of the church.
- Joyce
Pollock, Diocesan UTO
Coordinator

HELP WANTED!!
Reception Office -
Volunteers Needed
Urgently! In the past
two months, we have lost two
very devoted office
volunteers, Liza Bardwell
and Bill Warner. In
addition, we have lost Zoe
Richardson as she helps Stan
through his current
illness. While we hope this
will not be a long term
leave for Zoe, we have a
hole to fill until Stan
recovers. We need to have
volunteers, if possible on a
regular basis, but also as
subs. If you can help out
for 3 hour shifts once a
week, bi-weekly or once a
month, everyone would
appreciate it. We all like
having a live voice on the
telephone. Call Sally
Phelps, 251-4834 (H) or
957-9369 (C).
Welcome Committee
- Seeking individuals with a
sincere smile, warm handshake,
and a little knowledge of our
church layout. Very flexible
schedule - one half hour after
the Sunday service, once a
month. Benefits - such as
handsome name badges -
available! All ages welcome. To
apply contact Linda Savage at
savagelw@yahoo.com
or 238-9870.
Coffee Hour -
Hosts are needed for
Sundays in May, June, July
and August. Please consider
signing up! The time
commitment is 1 hour 15 min.
and is a great way to meet
fellow parishioners. The
coffee is all ready made so
a quick set up and clean up
is needed. Instructions
will be mailed to hosts.
Sign up in the Guild Hall or
contact Amanda Farrow or
Carol Schmid.
Pantry - Are you afraid
of commitments? Are you
interested in a one-shot
volunteer experience? Then
boy.....oh boy!!! Do we have a
deal for you at the Grace Church
Food Pantry! Interested teams
have two exciting Saturdays to
choose from: the lovely and ever
popular spring-like May 24th, or
the beautiful, promise of
summer, that is May 31st. All
you need is a smile, a
willingness to serve and three
and a half hours to spare.
Please contact Chris Rencontre,
Pantry Coordinator @
715-614-3205 or call the church
office at 255-5147, for more
information.

Website
Down
As some of
you may have noticed, the Grace
Website is currently down (thank
you to Deb Barber for pointing
this out last week.) I have been
in contact with David
at DanyoDesigns, who is working
with our web host, Lunarpages,
to address the problem. We still
have an open ticket with them
and hope to get the site back
up as soon as possible.
