Gardeners Needed

The courtyard garden force has slimmed down to a precious few, and needs to be fattened up.  No experience is required, learning on the job is free.  Preparation of the garden is upon us, and planting new flowers is around the corner.  Contact Jane Henning (238-4089) to help.

Mustard Seed Gatherings

In an effort to develop and clarify our mission here at Grace, Vestry members will be hosting small groups to discuss and receive feedback from parishioners. In the coming weeks you will be receiving an invitation asking for your RSVP. Please take a few moments to submit your reply and an hour or two to lend your voice to the future of Grace Church. We look forward to hearing from you!

The tentative deadline for our next issue of GraceNotes is Sunday, May 18. This issue will probably be mailed towards the end of May, focusing on looking into summer.
Because we had no issue specifically for May, if there are any announcements for this month you would like communicated to the parish, please feel free to email me and I will be happy to include them in the bulletin and  Friday email.

Three New Shelter Helpers
Miracles and blessings three fold have come to us in the shape of three stainless steel commercial kitchen grade chafing dishes purchased with proceeds from estate sales organized by the wonderful ECW (Episcopal Church Women). They will have lots of use and appreciation. Their "baptism" will be Monday, May 5, when we host another Shelter Meal. Cookies are welcomed for dessert and thank you everyone who has already volunteered. Mark you containers with your name and phone number. Sparky and Sarah Watts 244 9424 or

UTO Ingathering: Sunday May 11
The United Thank Offering is a long-standing tradition of he Episcopal church. The UTO is a way to give a tangible thanks to God. We start with daily prayers of thanks and then drop coins in ourblue boxes. Twice a year the blue boxes are collected or changed to checks and brought to church for an "Ingathering". Every penny collected in the blue boxes is given out in grants around the world. Last year St. James Church, West Bend, received a grant of  $8,245 for kitchen renovations and installations to improve their monthly outreach program of feeding the hungry. I invite you to join this rewarding tradition. Blue boxes are available at the back of the church.

HELP WANTED!!

Reception Office - Volunteers Needed Urgently!  In the past two months, we have lost two very devoted office volunteers, Liza Bardwell and Bill Warner.  In addition, we have lost Zoe Richardson as she helps Stan through his current illness.  While we hope this will not be a long term leave for Zoe, we have a hole to fill until Stan recovers.  We need to have volunteers, if possible on a regular basis, but also as subs.  If you can help out for 3 hour shifts once a week, bi-weekly or once a month, everyone would appreciate it.  We all like having a live voice on the telephone. Call Sally Phelps, 251-4834 (H) or 957-9369 (C).

Welcome Committee - Seeking individuals with a sincere smile, warm handshake, and a little knowledge of our church layout. Very flexible schedule - one half hour after the Sunday service, once a month. Benefits - such as handsome name badges - available! All ages welcome. To apply contact Linda Savage at
savagelw@yahoo.com or 238-9870.

Coffee Hour - Hosts are needed for  Sundays in May, June, July and August. Please consider signing up!  The time commitment is 1 hour 15 min. and is a great way to meet fellow parishioners.  The coffee is all ready made  so a quick set up  and clean up is needed.  Instructions will be mailed to hosts. Sign up in the Guild Hall or contact Amanda Farrow or Carol Schmid.
