Garden Help
100 days of grace
Need an excuse to get outside an enjoy the weather? The courtyard garden force has slimmed down to a precious few, and needs to be fattened up.  No experience is required, learning on the job is free.  Preparation of the garden is upon us, and planting new flowers is around the corner.  Contact Jane Henning (238-4089) to help.

Food Pantry Needs Your Help!

HELP! The food pantry is greatly in need of volunteers 100 days of gracefor two Saturdays, May 24th and May 31st, as well as weekdays during the summer. The pantry continues to serve over 1,000 families per month (and growing!) but due to health issues and vacations of some of our regular volunteers, we have a severe shortage of workers. To avoid closing the pantry on normal open days, we need volunteers soon! You can volunteer for s single day, monthly, or weekly. Contact Chris Rencontre (togracechurchpantry@gmail.com) if you are able to help!

Estate Sale

100 days of grace
A tantalizing estate sale will be held on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 at 23 Saukdale Way off Old Sauk Road. We need people to help price, to work on the sale days, to help haul, and to lend their computer skills.  Call Jane Henning (238-4089) to help.

Next Sunday - Estate sales need help in moving sale items and supplies to the 23 Saukdale Way site on Sunday, May 18 after church.  We need a few able bodied helpers, and a few station wagons or vans.  Contact Jane Henning (238-4089)  if you can lend a hand

GraceNotes

100 days of grace
The tentative deadline for our next issue of GraceNotes is Sunday, May 18. This issue will probably be mailed towards the end of May, focusing on looking into summer. Because we had no issue specifically for May, if there are any announcements for this month you would like communicated to the parish, please feel free to email me and I will be happy to include them in the bulletin and  Friday email.

Volunteer Opportunities at Grace

Reception Office - Volunteers Needed Urgently!  In the past two months, we have lost two very devoted office volunteers, Liza Bardwell and Bill Warner.  In addition, we have lost Zoe Richardson as she helps Stan through his current illness.  While we hope this will not be a long term leave for Zoe, we have a hole to fill until Stan recovers.  We need to have volunteers, if possible on a regular basis, but also as subs.  If you can help out for 3 hour shifts once a week, bi-weekly or once a month, everyone would appreciate it.  We all like having a live voice on the telephone. Call Sally Phelps, 251-4834 (H) or 957-9369 (C).

Welcome Committee - Seeking individuals with a sincere smile, warm handshake, and a little knowledge of our church layout. Very flexible schedule - one half hour after the Sunday service, once a month. Benefits - such as handsome name badges - available! All ages welcome. To apply contact Linda Savage at savagelw@yahoo.com or 238-9870.

Coffee Hour - Hosts are needed for  Sundays in May, June, July and August. Please consider signing up!  The time commitment is 1 hour 15 min. and is a great way to meet fellow parishioners.  The coffee is all ready made  so a quick set up  and clean up is needed.  Instructions will be mailed to hosts. Sign up in the Guild Hall or contact Amanda Farrow or Carol Schmid.

Endless FUNdraising Opportunities!

Now that Winter has finally left the neighborhood (knock on wood), Madisonians have emerged from hibernation to enjoy all that downtown Madison has to offer in the Spring and Summer, including the Farmer's Market! I noticed Grace has a delightful little popcorn machine, just hiding in the back of the kitchen. I propose we start poppin'! Whether it's raising money for a charity, donating to disaster relief, or helping raise money for Sunday School supplies or food for the shelter meals - what a great and easy opportunity we have! If you are interested in helping to organize some Saturday morning events or have ideas, please contact Kristin Matuszak at togracechurch@gmail.com!

Brunch for Bibles is Back!

Unfortunately we had to cancel our originally scheduled brunch due to one of the now-infamous Winter '08 snow storms. However, the brunch is now scheduled for Sunday, May 18th, after the 10am service. If you purchased tickets for the original brunch, they are still good for the 18th. The Youth Group will also be selling tickets following the services today and at the door. $10 for adults, $6 for children under 12. Proceeds from this event will go towards purchasing age-appropriate bibles for our Sunday School children.

Grace Episcopal Church is located at 116 W. Washington Ave. in Madison, WI. Our office is open weekdays from 9am to 3pm. Phone: (608)255-5147
