Adult Formation:

We use the word formation rather than education to convey the notion that our education as Christians is not merely about gathering information but forming our ongoing relationship with and in response to God in Christ.

We invite you to attend our Adult Forum...

This spring's Adult Forum series is called “In the Shoes of...”. This is a chance for us to explore the radically different lives of people that are around us every day, some of which we notice and some we don't!

Each forum will be a 2 part series: the first part will introduce a topic and the second will be the follow up. A follow up to what you ask? With each topic, we will challenge you to try life this way during the week! The follow up session will be a discussion of how hard or easy it was, did it change the way you thought about food or the environment? How long did your change of lifestyle last? One day? All week? One morning? Come to the Adult Forums to listen and talk, learn and grow, even if you choose not to 'experiment' with your lifestyle during the week.

Other Formation opportunities:

Grace Church Book Group

Time Commitment:  Meets every four to six weeks (on a Monday through Thursday evening) from 7 to approximately 9:30 p.m.  The group is hosted on a rotating basis in a member's home.  Host provides simple refreshments for approximately a dozen members.

Participation:  Group is very informal and is open to every member of the parish.  Notices of upcoming meetings and information on the book we are reading appear in GraceNotes and the bulletin.  You are cordially invited to attend.  Some attend every meeting; others as they wish and are able.  The Group meetings are not stuffy, formal seminars.  Rather they are casual meetings to discuss a book selected at the previous meeting by majority vote.   Formats include non-fiction, biographies, best sellers, classics, plays, and poetry.

Purpose:  Meetings provide an opportunity to socialize and catch up on parish life while discussing  ideas and sharing views on a wide variety of intellectual and spiritual issues we all face in our faith journey. Topics include:  religious or church issues, history, the lives of those who have shaped our world, and current events.
