Food Pantry:
There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot
appear to them except in the form of bread.
- Gandhi
Food, hygiene items, and hope. For nearly three decades, The Food Pantry at Grace Episcopal Church has provided these essentials to more than 5,000 families a year, one by one. We are a unique anti-hunger partnership between Grace Church and the larger Madison Community.
We wish we could report the pantry was closing due to no further need. Instead, about 300 more souls per month are coming through our doors than last year.
Our response is complex. Our volunteer base continues to grow in numbers and diversity, including special needs workers and a variety of faith communities and secular organizations. The pantry board is developing a new strategic plan, and we’re strengthening ties with other Dane County pantries and hunger-relief agencies.
We offer an abundance of volunteer opportunities, and there is no greater time than now to join us.
On behalf of our guests and volunteers, thank you for your interest.
Sincerely,
Stan Richardson
Interim Pantry Board Chair
